/me whom has been away.

A httpd could be running, or it could even be your own daemon
creation(simple one, or say jabber). Jabber is a more specialized 
xmlrpc type daemon, but still one none the less as it sends out 
xml remote procedure calls. :)

You could even do one ala webmin style....
