For one they don't do the same thing, and i personally feel ALFS is
muchmuchmuch more flexible then ROCK Linux ever will be (not that the
project is bad)

Read that first, it will give you an idea about what i'm sorta of
talking about.

ALFS and LFS will never been a distrobution (at least i hope not ;) at
least not a single, because of the way you can easyly expand and write
Profiles and the different ways you can go about it..

Dunno, personal preference and what your use to ;)
