Don't argue, just do it. Read a bit of FAQs about Usenet and newsgroups in
general, and you will see that this is the commonly used way of quoting.

I like holy wars and chatter. But some people don't like them. Don't cut em,
move em to a new list. That way everyone's happy. With computers you can make
everyone's happy, you don't have to choose one possibility or the other.
And, by the way, does this email make you realize how this way of quoting is
much more logical than putting the entire text below your reply?
