Problem with screen resolution (Modeline)

Hi

I'm trying to set my screen resolution to 1152x864 (80Hz). This is between
1024x768 and 1280x1024 and is not inside XF86Config by default. So I'll have
to use Modeline. I followed a Modeline-HOWTO, which I have attached. I tried
adding this line in the top of the Monitors section

 Modeline "1152x864" 126.0 1152 1152 1152 1.575 864 864 864 1

As you can see in the HOWTO, the format should be

 Modeline <name> <DCL> <HR> <HPS> <HPE> <HFL> <VR> <VPS> <VPE> <VFL>

The only numbers I don't know what mean is HPS, HPE, VPS, and VPE. I filled
the rest of the numbers like the HOWTO said. But that's not the problem. I
tried changing HR to 800 and VR to 600 but it didn't affect anything! I
guess I don't have Modeline in the correct section.
Of course, I put

 Modes "1152x864"

where the resolutions are set.

Can anyone help? and maybe explain what HPS, HPE, VPS, and VPE mean?
