Glibc make error

A signal 11 is almost universally a sign of bad ram or CPU. Your machine
may run fine otherwise, but GCC puts a serious load on processor and ram.
If either are flaky, a signal 11 results.

Subject: Glibc make error

I'm trying to install glibc-2.1.3, and when I run the "make" command,
it bombs with the message "Internal compiler error: program cpp got
fatal signal 11"

Can anybody suggest where to look for a solution? TIA.
