Hints are written by many different people. There is no consistency among 
them, and it was never intended to be consistent. Linux From Scratch assumes 
that its users are smart, and will understand what they're doing, not just 
blindly paste the commands. This assumption is wrong, we all know that brains 
are rare. We just have no pity for people without brains. (Not implying that 
you don't have a brain ;)
