Weird Tux Colours

I currently use 'reset' to clear the terminal, but i'm wondering if anything 
could be changed to stop tux from appearing in the first place? It's not a 
big issue, just wondered if it could be done because old Mandrake 8.1 distro 
kernel used to not have tux show at all.
