I've installed lfs-3.3, a few librairies required for links, emacs and
kde, gtk2, and started kde3 (with the informations contained in
http://hints.linuxfromscratch.org/hints/kde3.txt).

Every thing went rigth except for kdebase (but it went rigth without
--enable-objprelink).

I've change my .xinitrc to :

echo "Starting kde"
exec startkde

and launched startx > startx-out 2>&1 and saw x starting, kde splash
screen, kde tooltips and then nothing else : no kicker, no desktop : the
only thing i can do is ctrl-alt-bckspc.

Below is the content of the startx-out file. I've send a bug request to
kde.bugs.org and they said me i hava a serious system problem
(http://bugs.kde.org/db/46/46494.html).

I think the problem comes from glibc-2.2.5 (which contains fcntl.h
included in many kde source files and fcntl.c). The error message "Bad
file descriptor" is thrown when "for example I/O on a descriptor that
has been closed or reading from a descriptor open only for writing or
vice versa".

What should i do. Can i just recompile glibc-2.2.5 and nothing else.

I hope i do not have to restart every thing from scratch.

Thank you for answers
