Unresolved simbol !!!!!!!
You fool the kernel modules and/or source in some step.

(optional : save you current kernel config in a file, check processor and
options)

1) Please delete your kernel source tree (rm -rf /usr/src/linux and related)
2) Delete the modules tree in /lib/modules/2.xx.xx (rm -rf
/lib/modules/2.xx.xx)

<!! DON'T REBOOT NOW !!>

3) Unpack a fresh vanilla 2.4.19 kernel in /usr/src/linux-2.4.19
4) Make a symbolic link linux (ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.4.19 /usr/src/linux)
5) enter in /usr/src/linux-2.4.19 and do : make mrproper && make menuconfig
&& make dep && make modules && make modules_install && make bzImage
(optional : restore your configuration and RECHECK ALL OPTIONS when in make
menuconfig)
6) copy /usr/src/linux/2.4.19/arch/<your arch>/boot/bzImage AND
/usr/src/linux-2.4.19/System.map in /boot and update your loader (lilo or
grub : lilo -v -v check for errors in output)
7) do : makedep -ae 2.4.19 (ignore the warning and the unresolved symbol, you
are running and old kernel)

8) reboot

9)If depmod -ae show 0 error you are now safe and could try to compile alsa
from a fresh source dir.

Hope this help.
