No rule to make target `install' - problem solved

Removed the source and re-extracted the tarball. 
Steps performed as follows;

After removing the source tree,

root:/$ cd /sources/
root:/sources$ tar zxf glib-1.2.10.tar.gz
root:/sources$ cd glib-1.2.10
root:/sources/glib-1.2.10$ patch -Np1 -i
../glib-1.2.10-gcc34-1.patch &&
> ./configure --prefix=/usr &&
> make 
....
.....
