Nope, that's it.  Nice and easy, eh?  Just watch out for potential 
problems with 'udev'.  If you're upgrading to a 2.6.12.x kernel, you'll 
likely want to build a recent version of udev too, in order to avoid 
potentially slow booting and other problems.
